Widely used in coffee shops as a healthy alternative to syrup or white sugar, The caramel-like taste of coconut sugar complements the bitterness and acidity of specialty coffee.
Example drink recipes:
Coconut Sugar Latte: Espresso, steamed milk, and 1–2 tsp coconut sugar.
Caramel Coconut Cold Brew: Cold brew coffee + liquid coconut sugar (dissolved in hot water) + oat milk.
Coconut Brown Sugar Shaken Espresso: Shake ice, espresso, and coconut sugar, then top with milk.

Banana Bread Coconut Sugar
A moist banana bread with the complex sweetness characteristic of coconut sugar.
Ingredients:
- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 200 grams coconut sugar
- 2 eggs
- 80 ml vegetable oil
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 250 grams all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 100 grams walnuts/chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F) and prepare a 23x10 cm (9x5 inch) loaf pan.
- Whisk the mashed bananas, coconut sugar, eggs, oil, and vanilla.
- In a separate bowl, mix the flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
- Pour the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients and mix until just combined (do not overmix).
- Fold in walnuts or chocolate chips if using.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let it cool for 10 minutes before removing it from the pan.

Coconut Sugar Latte
A modern coffee beverage that combines espresso, fresh milk, and natural coconut sugar syrup, creating a smooth latte with rich caramel-like sweetness from coconut sugar.
Ingredients (1 Serving / 350 ml)
- 30 ml espresso (double shot)
- 25 ml coconut sugar syrup
- 180 ml fresh milk
- 100 g ice cubes
- Milk foam (optional)
- Ground cinnamon for garnish (optional)
Preparation
- Prepare a 350 ml serving glass.
- Fill the glass with ice cubes.
- Pour in the coconut sugar syrup.
- Slowly add the fresh milk.
- Gently pour the espresso over the milk to create an attractive layered effect.
- Add milk foam if desired.
- Sprinkle a small amount of ground cinnamon on top as garnish.
- Serve immediately.

Coconut Sugar Chocolate Cake
Cake Ingredients:
- 200 grams coconut sugar
- 200 grams all-purpose flour
- 60 grams unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tsp baking soda & 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 eggs
- 120 ml vegetable oil
- 240 ml buttermilk (liquid milk + 1 tbsp vinegar/lemon juice)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 120 ml hot water
Frosting Ingredients:
- 100 grams dark chocolate, melted
- 100 grams cream cheese
- 50 grams coconut sugar (blended into a fine powder)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F) and prepare two 20 cm (8-inch) round cake pans.
- Mix all the dry ingredients: coconut sugar, flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk the eggs, oil, buttermilk, and vanilla.
- Pour the wet mixture into the dry mixture and mix until smooth.
- Add the hot water and stir until smooth (the batter will be quite thin).
- Divide the batter evenly between the two prepared pans.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
- For the frosting: beat the cream cheese and powdered coconut sugar, then add the melted chocolate and vanilla.
- Once the cakes are completely cooled, frost them.
Coconut Sugar for Making Cakes
